Colombian craft beer tasting with Ceviche and sandwich
Tuesday to Saturday
3pm to 5 pm.
Craft beers are popping up everywhere in Colombia and Cartagena is no exception. María, the experienced executive chef and founder of Caffé Lunático, will be the guide through this delightful journey.
During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to explore various regional and national beers, gaining insights into the brewing process and discovering the nuances that set different beers apart in the world of brewing.
Attendees will get to savor 10 distinct beers from various producers, all paired with simple yet delicious Colombian appetizers and Ceviches, enhancing the tasting experience.
Salsa classes with a view
6 pm to 7 pm
Learn to dance with our Salsa teacher or put your dancing skills on display with these dance classes which offer you to learn basic steps, Salsa movement sequences, and how to immerse yourself in the music. Grab a mojito from the bar and enjoy this tropical cocktail while you learn. Salsa classes for beginner and experienced dancers.
Truth is, it takes years of solid practice to properly master this elegant and fast-paced artform. Nevertheless, a few beginner lessons are enough to learn the basics and gain the courage to hit the dance floor with confidence in your stride.
Bazurto Market Tour + Cooking Experience
Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
8 am to 1.30 pm
At the market, explore the maze strolling around the different stands trying different fruits and drinks.
You will learn about the variety of exotic fruits and spices, as well as the important role they play in Caribbean cooking. Also understand the importance of selecting first class ingredients and basically be transformed into a cartagenero, choosing and bargaining like one, asking for the ñapa (the extra bit).
Finally, when we finish the tour, we will take our mercado to the kitchen.
Then, back in the cooking studio, the Cartagena Cuisine Cooking Experience will start.
Colombian Rum and Colombian Chocolate Tasting
8.15 pm to 10 pm
Do you know that Colombia produces delicious and internationally awarded rum? And that some of them are not even produced for the local market and are exclusively distilled for other countries?
If you want to learn more about the history and the legend about some Colombian rums this experience is for you.
We will start with a short story about rum, the sugar cane and how this plant ended up in the Americas: Renato will guide you through six Colombian and Cartagena’s rums combining them with different local chocolates. You will also learn a bit more about this delicious fruit called cacao.
